Like many others, I have used the Technical Business Management (TBM) Taxonomy of the TBM Open Forum in the ServiceNow implementations I was involved in. Rather than reinventing the wheel, I also used the definitions and the names of the solutions and the towers that the TBM Council and its community defined. At the TBM Conference 2022, the overlap of TBM Taxonomy with ServiceNow’s CSDM was presented by Mark Brodman of ServiceNow. Since then, I have become a member of the TBM community and joined in on the discussion on mapping TBM 4.0 artifacts on CDSM  4.0 artifacts. I  became TBM Champion in December 2022.

ServiceNow is drafting a new “NOW Data Model,” which will replace the current CSDM in two years. TBM council will liaise with ServiceNow on the alignment of TBM with the new NOW Data Model.

Those who already want to use TBM data to implement Digital Portfolio Management in ServiceNow may wish to map TBM 4.0 content to CSDM 4.0. The picture below was my initial proposal for mapping TBM 4.0 to CSDM 4.0+:

Once the TBM council and ServiceNow have endorsed the proposed mapping, it will be made available via the appropriate channels.

Since I like the Master Data Management topic a lot, don’t be surprised you will soon find more messages from me on this topic. It is also not unlikely I will become a certified TBM Executive in 2023.
